Our story
We started Luma because everything else stung

Our founder spent eleven years with skin that flared at almost everything: the “calming” toner, the “clean” balm, the moisturiser a dermatologist had recommended without reading the ingredient list. The pattern was always the same — two good days, then a week of stinging.
The problem was rarely one villain ingredient. It was the accumulation: fragrance hidden as a botanical blend, a preservative chosen for shelf life, an essential oil added purely so the product smelled like a spa. Each one small. Together, enough to keep a barrier permanently on edge.
So we formulated backwards. Instead of starting with actives and hoping the skin tolerated them, we started with tolerance and only added what could be justified out loud. Colloidal oatmeal because there is real evidence behind it. Squalane because it mimics what skin already makes. Nothing for scent. Nothing for colour. Nothing to make the marketing easier.
Luma Organics is small, slow and deliberately unexciting on the shelf. The whole ambition is that you stop thinking about your skincare, because your skin stopped reminding you it was there.
How we formulate
Short lists over long ones
Every extra ingredient is another thing your skin can object to. We cut anything that doesn't earn its place, even when it would make the texture more luxurious.
Fragrance-free, full stop
No synthetic fragrance, no essential oils, no 'natural aroma' loophole. Fragrance is the single most common cause of contact dermatitis, and we won't chance it.
Tested on reactive skin
Every formula goes to a panel of people with eczema, rosacea or diagnosed sensitivity before it goes into production. If a third of them react, we start again.
Honest about limits
We don't claim to cure anything. Skincare supports a barrier; it doesn't replace a dermatologist. We'll say so on the page when something needs medical care.
